Velora is two pieces in one. Underneath is a smooth wire-free bra with seamless moulded cups. Over it sits a second panel: broad straps that run over the shoulders, meet behind you in a wide X that is moulded into one continuous piece, and come round to hook together at the centre front, so the pull is backwards across your upper back rather than downwards into the tops of your shoulders. It is the difference between a bra that lets you slump and one that quietly reminds you not to.

Below the X the back is open, so there are no hooks, bones or bulk behind you and the skin breathes. A separate wide elastic band runs under the bust and carries the weight. The cups are smooth, seamless and wire-free, with a soft V seam beneath them for shape and nothing that can work its way loose.

Velora - standing tall in a fitted knit top

By four o’clock, you are not sitting the way you did at nine.

Shoulders creep forward over a keyboard. Straps cut two grooves into the tops of them. Somewhere around mid-afternoon the underwire finds the one spot under your arm it always finds, and the rest of the day is spent adjusting.

Most bras hang your weight off your shoulders and leave your back out of it entirely. That is why by evening your shoulders ache and your upper back feels like it has been holding a shape it never agreed to.

Velora works the other way round. The two broad panels meet behind you in a single moulded X and pull backwards across your shoulder blades, so the load is spread over a wide area of your back and your shoulders are held open instead of being dragged in.

How it works

Three things, working together

No gimmick, no battery, no app. Just where the panels sit and how wide they are.

Wide shoulder panels

Cut like a vest rather than a strap, so the weight sits on a broad area of shoulder. Nothing is narrow enough to cut a groove.

One-piece X back

The two bands meet over your shoulder blades and are bonded into one continuous piece — no straps lying over each other, nothing to twist or ride up.

Front hook band

Three rows of hooks at the centre of the underband, so it can be let out or taken in. You fasten it looking down, not by feel behind your back.

The clasp is where you can see it

Most bras cut like this pull on over your head. That is fine until your shoulder is stiff, or you have had surgery, or you simply do not want to wrestle a tight band over your hair and makeup.

Velora hooks at the front. You put your arms through, bring the two front tails of the outer panel together at the centre of your ribcage, and fasten the hook band looking down at your hands. Getting out of it at the end of the day takes one motion.

The band has three rows of hooks, so you have a little room to adjust it as the fabric relaxes over the first few weeks — and a little room to breathe after lunch.

Straight answer

What this bra does, and what it does not

Plenty of pages in this category promise to fix your posture permanently. We would rather you knew what you are buying.

What it does

  • Holds your shoulders back while you have it on, which most people notice within the first hour.
  • Spreads the weight across your back and wide panels rather than two narrow points.
  • Acts as a physical reminder — you feel it when you start to slump.
  • Is genuinely more comfortable than an underwire at the end of a long day.

What it does not

  • It is not a medical brace and it does not treat a spinal condition.
  • It will not permanently change your posture on its own. Pairing it with a few minutes of upper-back strengthening is what makes it stick.
  • It will not relieve chronic back pain. If you have pain, see a professional.
  • It will not feel like nothing on day one. Wear it two or three hours the first day and build up.

Questions women ask

Which size do I take if I am between two?

The larger one, and use the Size guide above the bundles for the exact underbust and bust ranges. The band on this style is wider and firmer than a standard bra band, so it reads tighter than the measurement suggests. Sizing down is the most common mistake in this category.

Will it actually fix my posture?

It holds your shoulders back while you are wearing it, and most people feel that straight away. It will not rewire your posture permanently on its own — no garment does. Wear it through the working day and add a few minutes of upper-back strengthening and it becomes a habit rather than a prop.

Is it comfortable enough to wear all day?

After a short break-in, yes — it is wire-free, seamless and the panels are wide. But do not put it on for twelve hours on day one. Your upper back is holding a position it is not used to and it will feel tired. Two or three hours the first day, then build up over a week.

Will the X panel show through my clothes?

Under most tops, no — the fabric is seamless with bonded edges and there are no hooks or bones behind you, so it lies flatter than a standard bra. Under something very thin and very fitted you may be able to make out the crossing panel if you look for it. It reads as a sports bra rather than as a brace.

Can I wear it for exercise?

For walking, yoga, pilates and everyday movement, yes. It is a light-support everyday bra, not a high-impact sports bra — for running or a serious gym session you will want something firmer.

How do I wash it?

Hand wash, or machine wash cold in a delicates bag, and air dry. A tumble dryer will destroy the elastic within a month, and that is the single most common way people ruin a bra like this.
